Chitani Community Sustainable Development Organization (CHICOSUDO) 2023 

HICOSUDO is implementing the "Mtsikana Ali ndi Ufulu (MAU)" project to address the high rate of child marriages among girls under the age of 16. In this region, one in five girls is married before the age of 15. The project aims to prevent 1,000 of these early marriages in 13 villages under the leadership of the Kazembe Group by empowering girls, educating community and leaders, and promoting girls' education, vocational skills and the involvement of men and boys in the protection of girls. This is expected to reduce early marriages by 90%. CHICOSUDO will work closely with local authorities and families in this effort.
