South Kolkata Hamari Muskan 2023 

The project focuses on addressing the challenges faced by girls growing up in areas of prostitution in India. South Kolkata Hamari Muskan (SKHM) seeks to provide a safe environment, education and skills to these girls to empower them and help them make safe choices that lead to a dignified and financially independent life. The project includes identification and support of girls and their families, facilitation of education in government schools, regular and co-curricular classes, educational visits, psychotherapy and skills development sessions, and social engagement projects. The aim is to break the cycle of violence and marginalisation faced by these girls and empower them through education and emotional support.
